Bohemian Grove

Introduction

The Bohemian Club is the weirdest and most exclusive club you've never been invited to. Nestled within the redwood trees of Northern California lies an enigmatic retreat exclusively for the global elite. Bohemian Grove, which has remained shrouded in secrecy and speculation, has long been a subject of fascination and some pretty bizarre conspiracy theories.

The Origins of Bohemian Grove

Founded in 1872 by journalists and artists seeking camaraderie and artistic appreciation, the Bohemian Club evolved to include influential politicians and businessmen. The secluded 2700-acre campground was meticulously selected for its natural beauty and seclusion, providing the perfect setting for the elite to gather away from prying eyes so nobody knew what weird things they were up to, probably…

The Evolution of Bohemian Grove

What began as a haven for artistic expression and fellowship gradually transformed into a structured gathering reflecting the interests and influence of its esteemed members. The layout of the Grove includes sleeping camps, central locations for talks and performances, and a mysterious owl shrine used for ceremonial events.

Exclusive Membership and Controversies

Since the Bohemian Club is private, only active members and select guests are able to visit the properties. But these guests aren’t normal people, they always consist of politicians, members of government in foreign countries, etc. Members are able to invite guests to the Spring Jinks, which takes place in June, or the Main Encampment in July. When there aren’t any events going down at The Grove, members can use the Club for private day-only events, and they can bring their family, friends, and children. However, women and minors have to be off of the property by 9:00 p.m., because fuck them.

Rituals and Speculations

The secretive nature of Bohemian Grove has bred numerous conspiracy theories, with one of the most infamous being the Cremation of Care ceremony. Secret recordings have shown mock sacrifices in front of a giant owl statue that plays a recording that was once voiced by Walter Cronkite… talk about spooky.

Political and Business Influences

Bohemian Grove has been associated with influential events and discussions involving high-profile members, including notable figures like Dick Cheney, Richard Nixon, and Ronald Reagan. The club's motto, "weaving spiders come not here," is a very subtle hint to the secretive decision-making that occurs within the Grove. In September 1942, key figures involved in what would become the Manhattan Project convened at the Grove. This meeting is particularly famous for its role in the planning and development of the atomic bomb.

The participants included notable scientists and military leaders who played pivotal roles in the project. The discussions held at this meeting were crucial in shaping the strategies and development that led to the eventual creation of the atomic bomb. This historical convergence of influential minds in a secretive and informal setting underscores the Grove's role as a facilitator of high-stakes discussions and decisions away from public scrutiny and official settings.

Conclusion

Bohemian Grove - where the world’s moguls play puppet masters, not in boardrooms, but beneath the redwoods. It’s like summer camp for the one percent, if summer camp involved plotting world domination.
