Cassandra gets weirder
Cassandra's credibility came under scrutiny as Sarah learned that she had been lying about multiple aspects of her life, including falsely claiming to have a nursing degree that she received in prison, her misrepresentation of her relationship with Brandon, and her lies about having multiple sclerosis (MS). Further suspicions were raised when Cassandra mentioned her plans to put some of Brandon's ashes in a bracelet she claimed he gave her, even though he never actually gifted it to her. Sarah later learned the bracelet was given to Cassandra by her fiancé in prison. It quickly became apparent to Sarah that Cassandra had a long history of deceit and seeking attention from multiple individuals. Cassandra's connections to dangerous felons, including Wade Hoover, a convicted sex offender who assaulted children, and Michael McNaughton, a convicted murderer, added another layer to Sarah’s concerns. Additionally, Cassandra’s history of infidelity and a penchant for attracting attention from multiple people painted a troubling picture - especially when Sarah discovered Cassandra was married.

Police interview Cassandra
After Cassandra cancelled her first meeting with Asheboro Police Department, she finally spoke with Detective Suddith on December 4th, 2019. Immediately following the interview, Detective Sudduth sent Cassandra’s phone carrier a subpoena to maintain her cellular records while he worked on getting a warrant to request them. However, the contents of these records remain unknown today, as once Detective Johnson took over as lead following Detective Suddith’s promotion, Brandon’s case was closed and the investigation into Cassandra ended.
